Abstract
This essay discusses the significant influence of Boris Mirkine-Guetzévitch on constitutional law and rationalized parliamentarism. It highlights his intellectual journey during the 20th century, observing how his exile and subsequent life in the United States and especially in France shaped his academic views, particularly on democratic systems and the pursuit of freedom. Mirkine-Guetzévitch’s work is characterised by its analytical depth and civic commitment, expanding the relevance of constitutional texts beyond legal circles to a broader audience interested in political issues. His works reflected his belief in the enduring influence of the French Revolution on global political and social developments.
