Abstract

In an interview released in October 2001 but never published before, Tzvetan Todorov reflects on the reasons that had led him to explore art historical themes and undertake a study focused on seventeenth-century Dutch representations of domestic scenes – examined in the pages of Éloge du quotidien – connecting this choice with his previous research interests and methodologies in the fields of Semiotic, Linguistics and Cultural History.
